An overview helps someone find their bearings. A focused view helps them make a decision. Use named views to move between these conversations without maintaining separate copies of your model.
Save a second arrangement
- Open the Student service example and move the elements into a useful arrangement.
- Choose Layout → Save as a new view….
- Enter Overview in View name and save.
- Move the elements into another arrangement and save it as Service discussion.
- Switch between the two names in Layout. Save the model to a file or page and reopen it to check both views.
Saving a view stores its state in the current model session. It does not by itself download the model or save its Confluence attachment.
What a view keeps
A view records which elements and arrows it shows, its layout, positions and optional steps. The underlying element names and properties remain shared. A newly added element may not appear in a view with an explicit membership list; check the view of everything first.
Saving under a new name copies the current contents, positions and steps. Saving over an existing named view retains that view's contents and steps while replacing its positions. The automatic view of everything cannot be overwritten with a saved arrangement.
Manage names and the default
Choose Layout → Manage views…. Rename changes the name without losing steps. Duplicate makes another view; deleting a view removes its steps but leaves the model's elements. Use the up/down controls to order views; the first is the default. Save the model after changing this order.
Create a focused subset
Imported models and advanced JSON can define view membership, scope and exclusions. The current view-management dialog manages names, copies, order and deletion; it is not a full graphical query editor. Start with the downloadable two-view example to learn focused membership, or import a Structurizr workspace with defined views.

In a JSON views entry, include can name element IDs; ["*"] includes all. Use exclude for excluded elements and excludeInteractions for excluded arrows. See model files before hand-editing IDs.
Views without saved positions
A view can specify elements without coordinates or dimensions. Revelation uses default element sizes and places them according to the selected layout. Missing geometry does not mean an element should be invisible. After arranging the view, save it to retain the positions you want.
